| A big narrow-barred Mackeral caught by a young sportsman on light tackle. During the Mackeral season from June to November, many such fish are caught off the Cooktown wharf and from small boats fishing within sight of Cooktown. A fight with a big fish on light tackle is something to be remembered, and if you succeed, you have several nice meals to look forward to as well. | ||||||
